Current State of our Unicorn Apartment

I have been promising new photos of our "unicorn apartment" for months (to be fair, we moved in less than four months ago) and of course now that we have it all decorated for the holidays, I finally got around to making the bed and taking some updated shots. If you follow me on Instagram, then you've gotten to see more regular updates. In looking back through previous posts, I realized my last apartment update here was shortly after we moved in. Thankfully, we've made a lot more progress since!

As a refresher of what we started with four months ago, here are some photos I took of the apartment when we first viewed it back in late July.

Shot of the living room standing in the office doorway. Kitchen is in the left back corner.

Shot of the tiny bathroom - first door you see when you walk into apartment from front door.

The kitchen as seen from the dining nook area (or back corner of living room).

View of our office from living room doorway. French doors lead into master bedroom.

Non-working fireplace in master bedroom.

Opposite wall from fireplace in master bedroom. Door at back right leads into nursery.

And room-by-room, here are some shots of what the apartment looked like as of two days ago! It was a little cloudy so I had some trouble with the lighting, but hopefully you can overlook that.

Adding storage is key to survival here!

View of our wall decor and dining area (currently where tree is) from the kitchen.

View of our office and into the bedroom from the living room. Baby gate just serves as early prep for Aurora.

View of our office (and into the master bedroom) from the doorway.

Opposite wall of our office - Aurora's bed / crate sits between our closets.

View of the master bedroom from the office. Nursery door is at back right corner.

The nursing / rocking spot all set up. Chair was much too large for teeny-tiny nursery.

IKEA dresser we hacked - painted and added new hardware.

Keep in mind, of course, that I still have projects in the works. Hopefully by the end of this month, Keith is going to paint the black tv stand a light gray chalk paint, because I feel like there's too much black happening on that wall. We also have been trying to decide on a floor lamp for the living room, to sit alongside the bar cart. In the entry way, we have a piece of art that we're going to hang over that gray outlet box and eventually, we might paint light blue stripes on the nursery ceiling.

All of the artwork and frames were brought with us from Austin, so I don't know where most of those are from anymore. The only furniture we brought with us was the round dining table, bar cart, gray office chair, gray leather glider, yellow ottoman, and two side tables that we hacked a few years back. In case you haven't seen enough photos of our apartment, here are a few close-up detail shots just for fun!
