My sister had a three-day weekend for Martin Luther King, Jr day this week as well, so she spent it in Austin with me. On Monday, we went to Target and Jo-Anns for a few items for my porch update (post coming soon!) and wound up doing a lot of perusing and window shopping. We bought items too, but definitely not as many as we wanted. I realized I haven't done one of these posts in a while, so I thought it would be fun to share some of the things my sister and I were tempted to buy.
We started at Target, where I was hoping to find a new door wreath and other decorative porch items. They had a very limited supply of over-my-budget wreaths, but I always love their home decor so had to share some of it here. I tend to decorate primarily with warmer colors, but for some reason, this pastel bench was calling my name. I thought it would look really sweet in a guest bathroom with towels on the bottom shelf and a glass apothecary jar on top with pretty soaps in a variety of colors and shapes.
On a similar textured front, I love the look of this side table and think it would fit great on a porch beside a swing or two colorful Adirondacks, in a sunroom by a daybed full of comfy pillows, or alongside a darkly colored couch for a place to rest your tea and a good book.
Their mirrors and wall hangings are always fun to look through, and though I'm not in need of either right now, I like the variety of options they currently have in store.
Since I was actually looking for porch decor, we spent the majority of our time looking at their door mats, lanterns and vases. I liked the idea of doing a grouping of candle holders and vases filled with tea lights, greenery and faux floral. I considered a few of the following options and then played around with groupings in store.
The pricing was a bit more than I budgeted for, so I wound up buying a faux green plant at Target and then all the other items at Jo-Anns (wreath, vases, faux floral and paint). I spent the third day of my three-day weekend in the front yard in a haze of spray paint, so check back in a few days for a post-holiday porch reveal of all my newly painted goods!
