Back in July, we started working on a custom pallet entry table as an extra piece available in our Etsy shop, but we got sidetracked with other furniture orders and house projects. We also lost a little creative energy on the piece when we tried to add metal brackets as legs and couldn't figure out how to stabilize the piece or ensure they were perfectly even. I went back to the drawing board, sketched out lots of different options, ran them by Keith, threw them in the trash and started over again until we finally both agreed on a design. This weekend, I went to the lumber store and bought 2 x 2s for the legs and 1 x 2s for a "x" design on either end of the legs. We only got the legs attached this weekend but it's already looking a little better!
Once we add the "x"s and metal edging, I'll post an updated photo and link to it in our shop. I know I promised a finished photo of the three custom pieces we built last month, but I absentmindedly forgot to take final photos so I'm hoping our buyer will send some soon. I also spent some time this weekend starting to work on new pallet signs for the shop. I cut and glued several different pieces together and am planning to stencil text on them this weekend. I'll share updates of those soon too! Along with those fun projects, my brother recently started working on a reclaimed headboard project for my in-laws red/gold guest room and I'm working with a friend to design a custom bench for her back door entryway. The top will be modern, in pine wood, with a shelf for extra storage - kind of like this:
But rather than metal pipe legs, I'm currently working with another Etsy shop for some customized metal bases - just like the ones on this console table:
I can't wait for it all to come together and will of course continue to share updates. This weekend I'm also going to spend a day with my mother-in-law accessorizing her guest rooms and plan to share another window shopping post shortly after.
