A Safari-Themed Nursery

Our friends are decorating nurseries left and right these days, so I've got another fun kid room design to share with you today. Back in February I shared a design board I created for a friend working on a safari-themed nursery for her little boy due next week. She asked for help pulling together a color scheme and visualizing what the entire space would look like. As she'd already ordered most of her furniture and a colorful quilt for the room, I pulled colors from the quilt and decorative items from her Pinterest nursery board to create this design board.

She did a wonderful job pulling it all together and I enjoyed getting to help her! Along with the design board and feedback, this is the same friend who's changing and side table I redid last month. She sent me finished shots earlier this week and I wanted to share here, so you could see another room transformation from design board to completion. Please keep in mind, the dreary weather that we've had for the past week made these photos a bit challenging but I hope you still get a good feel for what an adorable, colorful space was created!

The side table beside the rocking chair is from ikea but she wanted it more personalized for the room. I didn't post a tutorial on the re-do but it was super simple! I used remnants of the same material I used in the changing table shelves and stapled it on the inside of the drawer front. I also trimmed the legs to be a better height with the rocking chair. My friend ordered the drawer pull from Home Depot and I spray painted it white to differentiate it from the orange in the fabric. Here are some closer shots of the side table and changing table.

The pendant and multicolored block letters were from her baby shower. Once their baby boy is born and they announce a name, she plans to swap out "Baby G" and spell out his name in block letters instead. I don't have a full list of sources for this room but I've listed the ones I do know below. If you have questions on anything not listed, please post in the comments and I'll share with her.

I can't wait to see their little boy enjoying this fun, colorful space soon!
