Safari Themed Designs for a Friend

Our post from this past weekend should be ready by this weekend instead, so be on the look-out for that in the next few days. Also, we're currently in the middle of roof repair estimates and deductibles so I'll be sure to share more on that in the near future too.

A lot of our friends are starting to have kids, and since helping with another friend's nursery design a few months ago, several others have also reached out for ideas. One of our friends, who is due in early June, asked for some help coming up with a color palette and decor for a little boy's nursery with a safari-theme. She made it really easy since she had already ordered the crib and dresser, and even chosen a wall color. I just helped pull together a color scheme, based off an Etsy quilt she bought, and grabbed some inspiration from her Pinterest board for additional decor ideas.

She pinned that lion fabric from Cloud 9, which I thought was such a fun starting place for this room, and I hope she lets me use it for curtains. The zebra rug is one she already owned that's getting moved from another room. And a coworker generously gave her their old changing table, then I found that teal one on another blog, and my friend thought it would be a fun, new update for the one she was given. I'll be painting that for her in the next few months and share some photos then!

I like bright colors but am typically a fan of very neutral, more plain kids' rooms (like this and this). I actually had a lot of fun helping with this fun, bold room design though! My friend, who's first nursery design I helped with, had her baby boy a few weeks ago and as soon as we can get in his space to get the room all set up, I'll be sure to post photos. Also, once this safari room is set-up, I'll ask to share a few photos here as well. I know that I've been sharing a lot of inspiration boards, but no final room pictures, so I'm hoping to have a lot more of those for the blog this year!
