Porch Decorating for Fall

I probably love being a homeowner the most when it's the right time of year to decorate our front porch, which is pretty much any time! Mainly I decorate for fall and winter, though I did make some summery decor this year too. I always try to wait until the 1st of October to work on the fall decorating (pumpkins everywhere!) and the 1st of December for the winter holiday, but I couldn't help myself yesterday and pulled out my box of fall porch decor. For some reason, I stuck several black candles from last year in the box that then went up into the attic and proceeded to melt over everything, so it's I definitely time for some updates. I did start to put out some of my previously used "skeleton bones" and other halloween-themed decor yesterday, but then decided this morning, I want to go with more of a general fall look that easily transitions into November as well. I decided to create a board with some Pinterest ideas to help with my purchasing and crafting decisions.

I made a creepy black wreath a few years ago with a rubber snake and spiders, so I think it's time to update that one with fall colors, burlap and leaves. I bought a few large pumpkins at the store yesterday but in the next few weeks, hopefully Keith and I will have a chance to go to an actual pumpkin patch and paint/stencil/cut our own designs into a few for the porch. I'm inspired to craft some of my own porch decor based on this idea for a "thankful" themed garland, these golden leaves on ribbon, baskets of leaves, chalkboard painted pumpkins, and a fall inspired door wreath. I also LOVE everything about this front porch! I'm heading to the craft store tonight and hope to post my own fall porch decor, inspired by my design board, in the next few days.

How do you decorate your house this time of year? Does your front yard become a cemetery and goblins haunt the porch or are you into the acorns, pine-cones and leaves look?
